Restaurants you can reach by boat in Mandurah
One of the best parts of a self-drive hire: pulling straight up to a jetty for lunch, a cold drink or an ice cream. Here are the local favourites you can tie up at. No car, no parking, just cruise in.

There’s a real novelty to arriving by water. No car, no parking, just ease up to the jetty and you’re there. Make a day of it: cruise the canals and estuary, then pull in wherever takes your fancy for a meal, a drink or an ice cream.

Boundary Island Brewery
The pick of the boat-up spots, a working brewery right on the water where you can pull in for a craft beer and a long lunch. Loads of lawn, and a playground to keep the kids busy while you settle in.

Dolphin Quay
Easy to reach and easy to love. Tie up along the marina boardwalk, grab takeaway fish and chips or a coffee, and eat on the pontoon watching the boats come and go.

Sandy Cove Tavern
A proper pub lunch by boat. Cruise up the Murray to Sandy Cove, tie up and head ashore for a counter meal and a cold one in a relaxed riverside setting, a favourite longer run.

The run down
Getting to Boundary Island Brewery
A guide, not a navigation chart. Always watch your depth.
Out past our jetty, under the town bridge and straight down the estuary, then turn in towards Erskine. Allow a good hour each way and keep between the channel markers as you go.
The brewery looks out over Boundary Island, which is how it got the name. It is not on the island itself.
Sandy Cove Tavern and Pelicans Café are a different trip again, up the Murray River beyond the edge of this map.
Before you set off
- Call ahead or check socials for opening hours and whether the jetty's free. They can get busy on weekends.
- Our boats carry short ropes; use the anchor rope to tie up longer, and leave room for others.
- Watch the tide and depth on the river and estuary edges, ease in slowly and don't get caught on the drop.
- Everything here is on the sheltered estuary and rivers. Our boats aren't permitted in the open ocean.
